Northshore Council PTSA General Meeting
Monday, September 16, 2024 In-Person @ Woodinville HS Library 6:30 PM Meet & Greet 7 PM Meeting Begins Info Sessions after the meeting! See below for more info! Council meetings will build your PTA knowledge, give you the opportunity to network with other PTA, school district and community leaders, and they can be a lot of fun, too. Just like your PTA, we need members - you, our NSD PTA leaders - present to vote on important business. Each PTA may send up to 4 voting representatives - but we encourage ALL who are interested to attend. We look forward to seeing you there! Meeting Agenda: In addition to our regular business, we will hold an election for the open positions of VP of Communications, VP of Elementary Support and VP of Secondary Support. Self-nominations for these positions are open now and close on Sept. 05, 2004. More information on how to self-nominate is posted here on our website. *UPDATE: Self-nominations for these positions closed at midnight on Thursday, Sept. 5th. Please see our "Second Notice of Election" blog for more information on the slated candidates for election at this meeting. After the meeting we will be hosting three informational sessions! Standing Rules Workshop - Let's take a look at your Standing Rules! Bring them along and we can work together to make sure they are up to date for your membership to approve. Reflections Overview - Get an update on what this year's program will look like - including important deadlines and information on processes. President's Roundtable - Connect with other NSD PTA Presidents to share and ask questions. Meet & Greet: Join us before the meeting, at 6:30PM, to chat with Council and other local PTA Leaders! This includes positions such as the executive committee (elected positions), board members, committee chairs, etc. If you serve on more than one PTA/PTSA, please complete the form for each position on which you serve. Need to update a link? Email [email protected] Northshore School District students in pre-K through 12th grade are invited to participate in the 2024-2025 Reflections Art Program. Reflections is a National PTA arts recognition program that helps students explore their own thoughts, feelings, and ideas, develop artistic literacy, increase confidence, and find a love for learning that will help them become more successful not only in school but in life.
Students must create original works of art in response to a theme -- this year's theme is "Accepting Imperfection". Students submit their completed works of art in one, or all, of the available arts categories: Dance Choreography, Film Production, Literature, Music Composition, Photography, Visual Arts. Advocacy Back to School Meetup
Tuesday, August 20, 2024 @ 4 PM - 6pm Bothell Landing Park Open to Northshore PTA leaders and Community Members! We invite you to join us at our back-to-school advocacy meetup. We'll connect and chat all things advocacy and start strategizing for the year to come. Together we can make a difference! Email Co-VPs of Advocacy for questions or more information. Notice: Self Nominations for Northshore Council PTSA VP of Communications, VP of Elementary Support and VP of Secondary Support Are OpenNorthshore Council PTSA is looking for nominations for our Vice President of Communications, Vice President of Elementary Support, and Vice President of Secondary Support elected positions. These positions were left unfilled at the end of last year. The WSPTA Uniform Bylaws allow members to self-nominate to run for these elected positions.
If you are interested in any of these positions, please complete the Self Nomination Form by midnight on Thursday, September 5, 2024. The election will be held at our General Membership Meeting on Monday, September 16, 2024. Qualification Requirements Per the 2023-2024 Council Standing Rules & WSPTA Uniform Bylaws:
Election Information: If there is a contested position at the close of the self-nomination period on September 5, 2024, we will send out an electronic voting method to Northshore PTA/PTSA presidents and vice-presidents. If no position is contested, we will hold the election by voice vote during our next General Membership Meeting, on Monday, September 16, 2024. Brief Description of Positions (for more detailed descriptions, click here) : VP of Communications: Works to facilitate Northshore Council PTSA communications in order to inform, engage, educate and inspire local PTAs and beyond. VP of Elementary Support: Act as a conduit of information for local elementary PTAs. Helps to answer questions local PTA's may have and works to recognize and celebrate local PTA's. VP of Secondary Support: Act as a conduit of information for local secondary (high school and middle school) PTAs.
