The Northshore Council PTSA Nominating Committee is seeking potential candidates for positions on Council's Executive Committee for the 2014/2015 school year. The positions are President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, Legislative VP, and Bothell / Inglemoor / Woodinville Area VPs.
Being a Council PTSA leader involves advocating for children locally, assisting and supporting local PTA leaders, being a positive part of the community, and making friends with like-minded folks. PTA experience is also highly relevant to other careers people pursue and can be a springboard for people who would like training and references.
If you or someone you know is interested in these positions, or if you would like more information, please
contact a member of the Nominating Committee. The deadline for submissions to the committee is February 24th.

It's time to think about those very special volunteers who go above and beyond the normal expectations.
Do you know someone who has been giving exemplary, continued and dedicated volunteer services to children and youth in our community? Then please consider nominating them for a Golden Acorn Award
from Northshore Council PTSA! Individuals who receive this award should have volunteer service at the Local Unit level and the Council level, as well as in the community and school district. This is an excellent way of recognizing PTA/PTSA members for their contributions on behalf of Northshore students.
Nominations can be emailed to Susan Schilling or mailed to Council's P.O. Box (Box 1001, Bothell, WA 98041).
Nominations are due by February 12th, 2014. For complete details, go to the Golden Acorn Award page on Council's website.

These three measures will appear on the February 11, 2014 ballot.
Each year at the State PTA Convention, WSPTA raffles off gift baskets with proceeds going to scholarships for graduates from Washington State public high schools beginning their freshman year of post-secondary education. Each year Northshore Council PTSA provides a basket to be raffled and we need your PTA's
help to fill that basket! The theme of Council's basket is "Washington Pride."
Please consider donating an item/gift certificate from a Washington State-based business.
A sampling of businesses include, but are not limited to :
Amazon, Starbucks, Nordstrom, Microsoft, Boeing, Costco, Glassybaby, Bartell Drugs, Jones Soda, Dick's Drive-In, Ivar's, Sur La Table, Theo Chocolate, Tommy Bahama, Tully's and many more!
If your PTA would like to make a cash donation instead, we will use it to purchase items for the basket.

On November 5 and 12, members of the U14 United Rebels soccer team volunteered their time at the Northshore Community Kitchen to among other things, make dozens of sandwiches and bagels, and prepare veggies for in-need families in Northshore. Note the cool Community Kitchen logo on those aprons! Special thanks to the girls for all their hard work.
