We want to capture and share your Parent, Teacher and Student involvement in Emergency Preparedness. Your teams successes will propel us all forward to achieve the safest and most prepared schools for our children.
  • What guest speakers has your PTA invited from the community to talk about safety and preparedness?
  • Examples of preparedness education in your PTA/PTSA news letters?
  • What sponsored parent-education safety/preparedness programs does your PTA/PTSA support?
  • How did your team share safety/preparedness information about local, state, and federal government legislation ?
  • What other successes has your Parent, Teacher and Student team had?

Please contact your preparedness council chair, Robin,  to share or obtain more information.

Many thanks to Catherine Robinson, Redmond High School, for establishing and teaching the 90 hour Career/Tech Preparation CERT Class (Community Emergency Response Team - CTP7111)
  • The Teens that take her class develop leadership, team building, time management, problem solving and stress management skills while doing real hands on exercises that can save people’s lives!
  • This is a class that exposes teens to Emergency Medical and Fire Fighting skills, some of her students have pursued careers in these fields in civilian and military roles. Students also learn about careers in emergency management, counter-terrorism, disaster psychology, animal rescue, and social media

STATION TOURS AND CLASSROOM VISITS

South Snohomish County  Fire & Rescue (Fire District 1) welcome the opportunity to give fire station tours and visit classrooms to help you learn more about your fire department, how your firefighters serve your community and ways you can keep your family safe. Safety Educator will work with you to make your visit to fun and educational. Firefighters can focus on safety, prevention or another topic during the tour.

Request Guidelines:
Picture
  • Please submit your tour request 21 days in advance.
  • Station visitors must be age 5 or older; for children under age 5, classroom visits are available.
  • We recommend one adult chaperone for every five children.
  • While firefighters enjoy providing tours and classroom visits, our first priority is providing quality, timely and professional emergency services. Firefighters are in service during tours and classroom visits, and may be called away to respond to emergency calls. If this occurs, we will work with you to reschedule.
  • Firefighters work in an industrial environment. Birthday party groups may schedule tours, but not party festivities at the fire station. No cake and ice cream, please.
Please complete the appropriate form for your group:Classroom Visit Request
