Council is helping to promote PTA Membership across our district!
Last week Melissa Kline, and high school students, Chase and Carter, traveled to all corners of our district placing "PTA for Your Child - Join PTA" yard signs. These signs were placed at all Northshore Schools. The QR code on these signs directs families to our website's list of Northshore PTAs/PTSAs*. This list includes links to your website, Facebook, and online join link so families can connect with your PTA and sign up for membership. Check out the photo gallery below for pics of all the yard signs! *Need to update or add a link for your PTA to our list? We can do that! Just send us an email. Calling all artists! Students in pre-K through 12th grade are invited to "Show Your Voice" in the 2022-2023 Reflections art program.Reflections is a National PTA arts recognition program that helps students explore their own thoughts, feelings and ideas, develop artistic literacy, increase confidence, and find a love for learning that will help them become more successful not only in school, but in life. Students must create original works of art in response to a theme -- this year's theme is "Show Your Voice." Students will submit their completed works of art in one, or all, of the available arts categories: Dance Choreography, Film Production, Literature, Music Composition, Photography, Visual Arts. Entries from local PTAs will be due to Council on Friday, December 2nd*.

WSPTA Leadership Trainings *Update 9/1/22*: Due to a scheduling conflict, training will no longer be offered on this night. Check out our training calendar for other opportunities. Immediately following our General Meeting, we will be offering two Leadership trainings; New Leader Launch and Roles and Responsibilities of the Board. Training is free and will satisfy the WSPTA annual training requirement. Training Descriptions: New Leader Launch - This session is focused on supporting those leaders brand new to a Local PTA Board or Executive Committee. We will learn the "101" on PTA, including governance structures, where to get help and resources, the ins and outs of the Standards of Affiliation, and what goes on in a typical calendar year. This is a definite must-attend for anyone brand new to a Local PTA Board! Roles and Responsibilities of the Board - This presentation will help all board members understand the basic responsibilities of their positions – and everyone else’s! It will also cover items such as advocacy, fiduciary responsibility, membership, and outreach. Council meetings will build your PTA knowledge, give you the opportunity to network with other PTA, school district and community leaders, and they can be a lot of fun, too. Each PTA may send up to 4 voting representatives - but we encourage ALL who are interested to attend. We look forward to seeing you there!
*A meeting passcode is required to join. It will be sent to local leaders via email. You can also request the passcode by emailing Council PTSA Communications VP, Jenn Snyder. Northshore Council PTSA will be holding elections online for Secretary and VP of Events.
