Build Community Outreach

• Advertising Membership Program & Incentives in multiple ways: Flyer’s home, school events and online via websites, email blasts and online community groups.
  
• Send everything home in one color…” Think PTA green when you see green paper.”
  
• Consider budgeting for translation services. Having your paperwork available in multiple language formats can help increase community outreach
• Partner with your school administration to create a joint survey for your school community to get input on best ways for school community to coordinate events, meetings and parent education opportunities in a more school community-based format.
  
• Get your staff on board: create membership drives that involve staff and classroom goals for prizes, such as extra free time, popsicle parties, book or prize baskets for classes that reach 100% classroom membership.
  
• Market your PTA as a Non-Profit specifically there to help the school community.
• Schedule a meeting with your school administration, ASB and booster clubs to create options and best practices on how to work together and not compete internally as a school community as far as membership, events and fundraising.
  • This could include creating a membership package as a school that supports PTA, ASB and Booster Clubs to mainstream sign up process and incentives signing up for multiple groups.
