Tools for Membership Planning

These last couple months before the end of the PTA year are an important part of your membership year. Now is a great time to start laying the groundwork for a successful fall.

Two key resources to help you set up for a successful new membership year are your standing rules and the Membership tools available on the Leadership Guides page of the the Washington State PTA website.*️

Use the steps below and the suggested tools to help you move toward a setting up a successful fall membership campaign!

1. Find a copy of your PTA's standing rules and read through them. Have there been any changes? If memberships and prices are listed there make note of those so that you can make sure your membership forms match.
2. Review the concepts outlined in Membership Strategy that Works*️ and start thinking about how to communicate the value of your PTA to potential members.
   
3. Pick a unifying theme. Use the PTA Membership Drive Themes*️ guide as a source of inspiration and to help you get the most out of your membership theme.
   
4. Create a draft membership form for next fall. Use the Membership Form Quiz*️ to help you review your draft and make it even stronger.
   

And don't forget to take time to read the Membership Handbook*️! It offers a wealth of information about all aspects of membership and it includes a monthly calendar to guide you through the membership year.
