Upcoming Parent Education Events!

Northshore Council PTSA is proud to co-sponsor two upcoming Parent Education Events taking place on Thursday, January 28th; one on digital safety and the other on instilling positive self-identity in our children. These events were made possible by the Educational Speaker and Community Event Grants Program. Check out the details for each of these events below!

Inclusion in the Early Years

Thursday, January 28th @ 6:30pm via Zoom

Join us for this presentation by Rosetta Eun Ryong Lee on learning how we can, in age appropriate ways, instill positive self-identity in our children and coach them to be positive influences on others' identities. Learn conversational tools and advice for ways to develop intentionally inclusive and identity conscious children.
Topics covered will include:

• Modeling behaviors for kids
• Coaching them for reacting to difference
• Choosing/using media mindfully
• Exploring identity and cultural competency

Digital Safety 101

Join author, educator and international speaker Jo Langford for an important talk tailored to parents/guardians to build their internet "savvy" to help our kids build their online lives with boundaries, etiquette and good judgement.

• An overview of tween/teen behavior in a digital world.
• Risks and benefits of online life.
• Most popular social networking apps explained.
• A primer on "The 3 Big Bags" -- Porn, Cyberbullying and Sexting.
• A healthy dose of questions & answers, so bring your questions to an expert.
